Puzzle testing and play testing
Andy and Lisa have solid experience in the emerging field of alternate reality gaming, also sometimes known as ‘chaotic fiction’, as to a large extent the participants write its stories themselves.
In February 2007 they recovered the Receda Cube from a Northamptonshire wood, becoming the winners of the Perplex City ARG in the process. This puzzle-based challenge relied on key ARG elements such as building a community of puzzle-solvers working together online to solve each challenge as it unfurled.
We also acted as puzzle-testers for the treasure hunt associated with Marcus du Sautoy’s BBC Two series The Code. Wcan help you judge the difficulty level of your puzzles and learn what approaches would-be solvers may take, as well as identifying any blind alleys that may await them.
