Our achievements

At Onlineability we believe we can help put your business or organisation on an excellent footing for online success. But do we practice what we preach?

Here’s some proof that we do – the successes that we’ve had in recent months that we are proud of. They include projects for satisfied clients, work we’ve done to develop the sites we run ourselves and an eye to the future direction of the Internet too.

They should also help give you a feel for our strengths and the ways in which we may be able to work with you.

Taking our work to another level with The Takeover Panel site
This project, which involved creating a stable, efficient and well-designed site for a City regulatory body, was a challenging project which had to meet strict criteria, especially in terms of reliability and constant uptime. It also presented complex challenges of information architecture, since it is the repository for a large amount of information for the body which must be easily retrievable by users. We’re very happy with the resulting site which combines a clean, professional design with ease of navigation and stability. And we’re also pleased to have successfully tested our skills on a project of this size.
Creating a great new web presence for a Cornish conservation centre
We responded to a fundraising appeal in the Screech Owl Sanctuary’s regular newsletter by offering to give its website a complete makeover. The job required a site that was attractively-designed, informative for visitors and painless for busy staff to use and update – as well as making sure the sanctuary appeared high on any visitor’s potential list of places to visit in Cornwall. The redesigned site is now live and the company is working to help staff make the most of it and consider future directions for expansion. It’s been pleasure to work with Tom and Carolyn Screech and their family and we look forward to helping them promote the sanctuary online for a long time to come.
Building our Brits on Pole motorsports site into an emerging leader in its field
We’ve attended several racing events as accredited media, worked with major international brands including Shell and Philips, promoted teams including Ferrari and Williams, interviewed the UK’s Minister for Science and Innovation Lord Drayson – or, at least, his racing driver alter-ego – and come runner-up in a competition organised by Oxfordshire-based Renault to find out who could most successfully promote its European Grand Prix competition. We also produced our first podcast from this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. Brits on Pole is one of our most exciting projects – and we enjoy almost every minute spent working on it.
Building a following of around 300 cricket fans for our blog The Nurdler during The Ashes
Developing our blog The Nurdler, which takes a lighthearted look at the world of cricket, has been on our to-do list for some time with plans to expand it into a sister site to Brits on Pole. During The Ashes campaign we used Twitter to build relationships with cricket fans in Britain and beyond, finding the right voice in the process and proving the current axiom that the most valuable commodity for a business operating in social media is authenticity. Now we hope to build on this success.
Working with Internet radio station Radio Riel on virtual worlds content
At Onlineability we believe that virtual worlds are the future of the internet. And that, one day, having an avatar or virtual representation of ourselves that can travel through and between such worlds will become as essential as an email address. A key interest is of ours is how content providers can work in virtual environments and for this reason we are delighted to be working with Kristin Ried Jensen of Michigan, USA, by sponsoring her internet radio station Radio Riel. We first met Kristin’s virtual alter ego Gabrielle Riel as a charming event host in the neo-Victorian world of Caledon. As she looks to expand to new fields of endeavour, we are delighted to be working with her.
